I am more of a casual fan of the X-Men world, and yes, they certainly do play with the origins of the characters a little. Yet, as with any adaptation of any kind, I think the standard is whether the story the movie tells work, not its faithfulness to the source material. For me, it did. For you, obviously, it didn't. You can't please everyone.Dave Van Houwelingenhttp://www.davesmoviesite.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7069240801305189913.post-2167102983479349262011-06-06T17:08:42.546-07:002011-06-06T17:08:42.546-07:00As an 31-year old X-Fan, and not a bitchy fanboy, ...As an 31-year old X-Fan, and not a bitchy fanboy, I was appauled by how awful this film was. The plot/dialogue, and the majority of the casting was just teeeerrible. They should've marketed it as a film inspired by the pre-existing source material because it have very, very little to do with anything pre-existing. I have no issue with creative liberties as an artist/writer myself but this was just godawful. Things were just stupidly adapted for the film and it was pretty hard to watch a lot of the time. Clearly a film made for those who knew nothing of the original story, and this is evident by the various reviews I read of the film. Fans hate it, those who only know of the movies enjoyed it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
