I wondered what the reaction would be of someone who had not seen the play - and I think pretty much every review I read was by someone who had because I wasn't sure - and still am not, despite having seen the film twice now - if I liked it more or less because my having seen the play. On one hand, the flaws stick out more, because they weren't in the play. On the other, having that prior knowledge helps to fill the gaps (the movie is approximately an hour shorter than the play - so they left out a bit). Good to hear it works for those who did not have prior knowledge of the play.Dave Van Houwelingenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02675792024957939574noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7069240801305189913.post-33045873974497076352014-01-11T20:35:39.688-08:002014-01-11T20:35:39.688-08:00I'm just so glad I saw the movie before the pl...I'm just so glad I saw the movie before the play. I just found the dialogue, the performances, and the style of August: Osage County to be so refreshing. Your review really makes me want to see the play, but as someone who has only seen the film, I would hardly change a thing about it.
